Looking Forward

Hello! I’m Diana, and I’m excited to get going on this journey with you!

You might be wondering what kind of journey a caramel maker and you might embark on together. But I’m not just in the business of making fantastic caramels (although you’ll soon be dreaming about them once you’ve had a taste)! I want to help people create intentional moments AND I just happen to help them say it with caramels!

This blog is going to be an extension of my home, of my kitchen. I want to invite you in to chat for a while, and just see where the conversation moves. Let me tell you, it’s not going to just be all sweet — I’m going to add some salt and spice in from time to time!

Recently, with handcrafting this business and just walking through life, the biggest question has been, “How can I be more intentional?” If you’re like me and if you let life determine how your day is going to be like — you wouldn’t interact with people. Period.

As long as I have a clean house and my work is done, I’m happy. Or so I think!

We have computers and devices that make it feel like we know people when we only know about them. To know someone, you have to make a gesture, speak face to face, and speak into their reality. You have to be intentional. But let’s be honest, sometimes we feel so busy, so in our own space, that making friends feels like a battle, like something we can never win at. And so, we sit at home, in our comfort, and scroll. Or clean. Or work.

Friendship shouldn’t be a chore, it should be something that makes you happy. Most people, once they’ve encouraged someone or connected with a friend, are happy that they did after the fact.

I’ve had a lot of change in my life over the past few years. From changing career paths to sending my sons off to college to fighting cancer and winning, there have been battles. And my place of joy and fulfillment has been in my home, making it my version of “perfect.”

As I was preparing this website and this launch, someone asked me what inspired me. And I raved about home decor and mixing vintage with modern. But then I stepped back and asked, “Is that really who I am?”

My husband told me one day that he wasn’t sure I could give up my home-obsession to grow Dulce Diana the way it could grow. And once again I asked myself, “Diana, are you making the moments matter? I didn’t like the answers I was getting.

I’ve realized that the most important thing in the world is our relationships. When we prioritize people, we find there’s more to life than a picture-perfect version of your best life. There’s an amazing adventure out there and it’s being part of other people’s vibrant, messy lives! We’ve all got a story that can help someone else!

We all have things and ideas that make our hearts sing. And I’m sure I will show you all some of the latest design trends or home decor projects I’ll be taking on. But more than anything, I want you to know that God is real and is working in my life — and that He wants us to have a full life spent with people, making real meaningful moments!

That’s what we’re going to do here. We’ll talk about things that matter — like bringing grace to our lives and how to allow ourselves to be imperfect to find happiness. There’s so much more to gain on this journey together! These caramels are truly an extension of who I am and I want them to help people say, “I love you. I care about you.”

So join me on this adventure! We’re going to be more thankful, and care more for the people in our life. We’re going to eat hand-crafted caramels, and be happy and content in the little moments. We just might put our visions of perfection and time spent doing the floors and dishes to better use — making more intentional moments with our people!

Moving Forward,
